Miscellaneous Fun Designs:

When I started learning CAD, I was really excited to try out all the different things I could do with it. I started with some simple designs, and then I got a little more ambitious. Here are some of my favorite projects that I did for fun!

Remodeling My Room:

My parents wanted to test some of the rearrangement options for the major items in my room, such as my desk, dresser, nightstand and bed. For fun I CADded them out in a lot more detail than I needed to, but the result was quite nice. As part of my room remodeling project, I decided to design some furniture for my room. I wanted a bed that would be comfortable and stylish. I spent a lot of time working on these designs, and I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Dream Computer Desk:

After the task to design my room, I got some inspiration to try designing my dream desk. We were planning to get a new desk for my room anyway, so I spent a few hours designing it. I was having a sort of drummer phase, so I added little arms on the back to swing out to turn my desk into an electronic drumming station. I also wanted to have 3 monitors because all my friends who were heavy gamers kept telling me how useful it was. The little childish personal flare was the little soda can dispenser above the mini fridge on the right side, which was always a sort of dream of mine.

Automatic Chess Board:

Being an only child, I got used to playing chess against myself when my computer was off-limits, and that was the inspiration for the self-playing chess board. The idea was pretty simple, being an electromagnet mounted on a two-axis rail system hidden underneath the board. Each chess piece would have a magnet in the base, and it would move the pieces by activating and deactivating the electromagnet in another position.

Simon Says!:

I had a Simon Says style game that worked by sliding or turning two panels on the side to match the pattern that was displayed on the screen. For fun I decided to CAD a model of it, and it turned out quite well!
