Discipline, teaching, and milestones

Taekwondo:

For the past 14 years, I’ve been practicing taekwondo-a discipline that has lifted me through my lowest moments and taught me relentless perseverance. In June 2025, I earned my 3rd Degree Black Belt, a milestone that symbolizes the strength and mindset I’ve developed to protect my loved ones, myself, and the values I hold myself to.

I also hold the title of Assistant Master, with nearly 200 hours of teaching classes. I’ve taught students of all ages, tailoring lessons to individual strengths and learning styles whilst ensuring they remain engaging and fun. I consistently receive feedback that classes I teach are fun and encouraging, helping students stay motivated to show up consistently.

Some of my proudest moments are captured here: receiving my 3rd degree black belt, breaking 3 stacked 2-inch cinder bricks, and stepping onto the mat for my first ever taekwondo lesson. Each moment represents a different aspect of the progress I am proud of: tenacity, adaptability, bravery, and mental fortitude. Together, they tell the story of how taekwondo shaped who I am today-as an athlete, as a teacher, and as a person.
