During my 8-week internship, I learned about the roles of every team, from preconstruction to project owners. I got to see the vast range of impact that this industry has on communities. Most of all, I really enjoyed engaging with industry professionals with such a wide range of skill sets and backgrounds.

I got the opportunity to draft a Construction Work Plan for a basketball field in Renton and run estimates on meeting rooms in a tenant-improvement development project.

At the conclusion of my project, I presented my learnings and my future plans to my supervisors along with ~50 other employees, including the Executive Vice President. I crafted and presented a sample sustainability plan that I hope will help prepare Skanska to further their stewardship as leaders in the industry. At the conclusion, I was invited to return next summer to join the preconstruction team and work on creating 4D models geared toward winning future projects for the company.

All in all, my experience has reinforced my passion in this industry, and I look forward to exploring this ambition further!
